AruNA

Rahasya sahasranAma of shrI lalitA parameshvarI describes variously the aspect of AruNya of parAmbA which symbolizes her ananta kAruNya. As the three aspects of upakrama, nirUpaNA and upasaMhAra have been judiciously dealt with in the nAmasAhasrI, it can be termed a shAstra without much hesitation. The following names indicate various aspects of her AruNya:

1. udyadbhAnusahasrAbhA

Interestingly, the number of names describing AruNya is thirty-two, indicating the number of mukhya vidyAs that originate from the seed named kAmakalA. The AruNya of parAmbA should not be incorrectly interpreted as rajo guNa. In the final stage of mahAyAga, when the jIva-samvit attains nirupAdhikatva, this state of prakAshamAtratva is characterized by parA samvit, described as being of aruNa varNa. The shruti describes this thus: lauhityametasya sarvasya vimarshaH.
