Amriteshvara Bhairava

 

अन्तरालीनतत्त्वौघं चिदानन्दघनं महत् |
यत्तत्वं शैवधामाख्यं तदोमित्यभिधीयते ||

तादृगात्मपरामर्शशालिनी शक्तिरस्य या |
देशकालपरिच्छिन्ना सा जुं शब्देन कथ्यते ||

सिसृक्षोल्लेखनिर्माणशक्तित्रितयनिर्भरा |
जगतो योषिता शक्तिः सा स इत्युच्यते स्फुटम् ||

स्वशक्त्यभिव्यक्तिमये मोक्षेऽस्यैश्वर्य योगतः |
स्वोपासकानाममृतेश्वरत्वं तस्य सुस्फुटम् ||

नीलहर्षादि भेदेन यद् बाह्याभ्यन्तरं जगत् |
अहमित्यामृशन् पूर्णो भैरवः समुदाहृतः ||

देहप्राणसुखादीनां न्यग्भावाद्भक्तसंहतेः
या चिदात्मनि विश्रान्तिर्नमः शब्देन सोच्यते ||

आत्मेन्दुधामनि युगेशनरेशपत्र-
चित्रां त्रिशूलबिलधामनि सृष्टिशक्तिम् |
वैसर्गिके चितिपदेऽप्यथ पुण्डरीकां
काञ्चित्परां त्रिकपरां प्रणामामि देवीम् ||

antarālīnatattvaughaṃ cidānandaghanaṃ mahat |
yattatvaṃ śaivadhāmākhyaṃ tadomityabhidhīyate ||

tādṛgātmaparāmarśaśālinī śaktirasya yā |
deśakālaparicchinnā sā juṃ śabdena kathyate ||

sisṛkṣollekhanirmāṇaśaktitritayanirbharā |
jagato yoṣitā śaktiḥ sā sa ityucyate sphuṭam ||

svaśaktyabhivyaktimaye mokṣe.asyaiśvarya yogataḥ |
svopāsakānāmamṛteśvaratvaṃ tasya susphuṭam ||

nīlaharṣādi bhedena yad bāhyābhyantaraṃ jagat |
ahamityāmṛśan pūrṇo bhairavaḥ samudāhṛtaḥ ||

dehaprāṇasukhādīnāṃ nyagbhāvādbhaktasaṃhateḥ
yā cidātmani viśrāntirnamaḥ śabdena socyate ||

ātmendudhāmani yugeśanareśapatra-
citrāṃ triśūlabiladhāmani sṛṣṭiśaktim |
vaisargike citipade.apyatha puṇḍarīkāṃ
kāñcitparāṃ trikaparāṃ praṇāmāmi devīm ||

The first six verses reveal the mantra of Amṛteśvara Bhairava.

The seventh verse describes the śakti of Lord Bhairava. Arising from the navel of Amṛteśvara Bhairava is the śakti triśūla (trident) on the left prong of which is stationed Aparā Devī. Parāparā is stationed on the right prong and Parā on the central prong. Above the central prong, Mahākālasaṅkarṣiṇī Kālī is present who is known as Parātītā Bhaṭṭārikā. The seventh verse above describes mukhya śakti of the three [Parā] also known as Amṛteśvarī.

While the mantras of Amṛteśvara Bhairava, Parāparā, Aparā and Parātītā Bhaṭṭārikā are to be received from Sadguru through the process of initiation or Dīkṣā, the votaries of Kashmir Shaivism hold that the mantra of Parā, also known as Devī Hṛdaya Bīja is the only mantra which can be recited without initiation from the Guru. Of course, this is not accepted in śrīvidyā where Parā Bīja requires specific initiation (as detailed in Parā Tantra, Paraśurāma Kalpasūtra etc.) from the Guru and one receives this mantra only after completing puraścaraṇa of several other mantras including Pañcadaśī and Laghu-ṣoḍaśī.
