Peculiarities of Hādividyā

There are certain peculiarities when it comes to the worship of Shrīcakra for upāsakas of Hādividyā as propagated by Bhagavatī Lopāmudrā.

In Hādividyā, the Srīcakra is not constructed differently from the standard form. However, while the importance is awarded to pūrva and paścima dvāras of the Chaturasra in Kādividyā, the dakṣiṇa dvāra assumes primary significance in Hādividyā.

The worship happens in sthiti-krama, with the below peculiarities in addition to the standard navāvaraṇa krama. Visualizing an āsana below the Mahābindu, Sadāśiva mahāprēta bīja is worshiped. In the mūlatrikōṇa surrounding the Mahābindu, in the east, south, and north, three dvāras are visualized where three deities peculiar to Hādividyā (named the Samayā-traya) are invoked. At the edge of the aṣṭadala-padma, eight granthis and triśūlas are visualized. In the granthis, starting with the east, the eight Bhairavas are worshiped, and in the resulting ten corners, a group of ten Vaṭukas is invoked.

In the Triśūlas, the eight Bhairavī-s are invoked. Within each circle of the vr̥ttatraya, the yōginīs of Bhūrlōka, Bhurvarloka and Svarloka are invoked. These yōginīs are not to be confused with the Mātr̥kā yōginīs of Trivargasādhaka chakra invoked within the vr̥ttatraya of Kādi Dakṣiṇāmūrti krama.

On a lighter note, we just heard of a new ‘thing’ called ‘Kaveri Srividya’ through an acquaintance. Supposedly, by paying certain amounts of money for 3-different levels of diksha, ‘mounds of karma are melted and liberation is attained’. And the best thing – this has the certificate of approval by Lopamudra herself (hopefully an e-copy)! You got to give it to this person for innovating, ‘Kaveri Srividya’ – things people do to make money!
