Shiva Chidraśmimālā

Mahashambhu

In śrīvidyā, contemplation on the chief emanations of Lalitā is done through the recitation of Raśmimālā. This string of mantras is revealed in Paraśurāma Kalpasūtra. A much longer version of the same is found in the older Dattātreya Saṃhitā, from which the Kalpasūtra seems to derive its shorter form. The shorter version is said to correspond to Pañcadaśī and the longer to ṣoḍaśī.

There is a similar Mālā associated with Lord Prāsāda Parameśvara, named Chidraśmimālā, which is recited after contemplating on the Raśmimālā of Mahātripurasundarī. While the former is recited in the morning, the latter is meditated upon during midnight. Mention of it can also be seen in Mucukunda Sahasranāma. Below is the popular list, but our lineage follows a slightly different form said to be from Chidambara Tantra.
