Mahāvārāhī, the supreme Daṇḍanāthā, is propitiated through a specific maṇḍala – referred to as Grahasamkṣōbhaṇa chakra, along with her retinue of śaktis, to overcome the effects of various bālagrahas. This practice is very popular among the śrīvidyā upAsakas of Mahārāṣṭra. The approach here is to not appease the grahas through Bali but to rather appease the fierce śaktis of Pōtriṇī that can command, control, and subdue the grahas.

The śaktis worshiped in this maṇḍala are:

Mahāvārāhī is visualized as surrounded by this retinue of śaktis, alternately dressed in blue and red garments, jewelry and flowers. It is also pointed out that each of these grahas do not operate as an independent entity but instead as a collective entity deriving their power from one another. The prayoga of Grahasamkṣōbhaṇa chakra is performed both as a naimittika and a kāmya karma based as may be the situation. The prayoga is carried out for five consecutive nights using red and blue flowers on alternating nights. Milk mixed with honey and ginger is used for tarpaṇa. On the fifth night, hōma is performed with gingelly rice, urad dal vaḍa, and three kinds of pāyasa. After the successful completion of the procedure, if required, an oracle can be sought from Stambhinī through āviṣkaraṇa. Anyone who has attempted such an āviṣkaraṇa, knows it is not something to be toyed with by amateurs.
